Webinar presented by Michael Mittag, FHNW, on September 10, 2020
Educational videos are a flexible and fun tool and can bring important messages home in a matter of minutes. Also, they tend to be watched passively and students tend to over-estimate the learning gains they get from watching videos. This webinar explores several scenarios of using videos productively in class:
- Using videos as learning aids and motivational aids
- Coupling videos with practical appplication formats such as case work
- Letting students create their own videos
- Creating agile courses where students use the videos for self-service education
At the same time, the webinar will look at some media theory: What messages videos can transport effectively, how they transport it differently than other academic media and how students and lecturers can use them to reach their respective goals.
